Event Roundup: What to look forward to this weekend

Happy Friday and happy almost-Valentine’s Day! Here are some upcoming events to check out this weekend. 

Friday the 13th

During all of this focus on love and Valentine’s Day, we almost forgot that today is Friday the 13th. But ScreamWorld didn’t forget. In fact, they’re opening tonight for one night only, 8-11 p.m., and offering “All you can scream,” meaning that you can go back through the doors as many times as you want (if you dare!). Lunar New Year 

Celebrate the Chinese New Year at the Chinese Community Center tomorrow. Enjoy festivities such as international performances, vendors with games, gifts, and more, face painting, a Chinese Valentine's photo booth, and much more. See the details.

Looking for a last-minute, local gift for Valentine’s Day? Make sure to head over to Evelyn’s Park on Saturday for Pop-Up in the Park, including lots of local vendors offering Valentine's treats. See the details. 

Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna

Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna opened this week at the Sam Houston Race Park and will be playing through March 22. This one-of-a-kind, captivating show would be a perfect Valentine’s date or fun anytime.
