Bald for a cause
Over 60 boys and girls had their heads shaved at Bunker Hill Elementary to raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a non-profit that funds research to find a cure for pediatric cancer. The event was led by Christyn Whitney and raised more than $30,000. During the “Knights of the Bald Table” ceremony, eighth grader Jack Whitney (pictured, center), who has been shaving his head for eight years, “knighted” his brother, sixth grader Mason Whitney (at left), for seven years of head shaving. Carson Hesse (at right), a fifth grader and cancer survivor, also shaved his head to support children who are fighting cancer.
