Stinging the competition
The Houston Youth Lacrosse (HYLAX) Lady Hornets varsity team (pictured) won the championship game in the first annual Greater Houston Youth Lacrosse Association year-end tournament. Under the leadership of coaches Katie Imber and Kristin Marchese, the team competed in the two-day tournament at Sienna Plantation. The Lady Hornets defeated Cypress-Fairbanks on the first day, then defeated the Woodlands on the second day before advancing to the finals and beating Kingwood 13-6. Players are seventh and eighth grade girls who attend schools including Lanier Middle School, River Oaks Baptist School and St. Michael Catholic School.
