Ginger Margarita

Ginger and Thai chiles are unexpected additions to this classic on-the-rocks cocktail. To intensify the flavor of the aromatic ginger, grate and muddle it with sugar.
2 ounces Herradura Silver Tequila or other high quality silver tequila
1 ounce Cointreau
1 ounce fresh lime juice
¼ teaspoon minced fresh ginger
Pinch of sugar
Pinch of minced fresh red Thai chiles
Lime wedge
Combine the ingredients, except the lime wedge, with ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously. Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with lime. Dip the rim in salt. Fill the glass with ice. Decant the shaken ginger margarita over the ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
