Grandma Doris’ Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies
Doris Hymen's chocolate chip cookies were legendary and her children and grandchildren enjoy baking them together today. Her recipe is shared by the Most family. Hilary Most says the cookies are particularly good when chilled in the refrigerator.
1/2 pound butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
2 cups flour
1 small package of chocolate chips (1-2 cups)
Cream the butter well and add powdered sugar gradually. Add egg yolk, salt and vanilla.
Blend in flour a little at a time until dough can be handled. Add chocolate chips and mix well.
Drop by teaspoonful rolled into a ball onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-12 minutes in a 350° oven.
