¼ cup fresh or frozen blueberries

Red Berry Smoothie

2 cups frozen/fresh strawberries or raspberries or cherries or blueberries or combination

1 large or 5 baby carrots
1/3 cup cooked sweet potato
1/3 cup frozen peaches
1/3 cup frozen mangoes

If the smoothie is too thick, add orange juice to thin it.

1/3 cup pineapple juice or 2 fresh pineapple rings
1 cup peach yogurt (Lorelei uses almond or soy yogurt to make the smoothie vegan)
1/4 cup fresh or frozen peaches

Carrot Cake Smoothie
It tastes like carrot cake, but you don’t have to turn on the oven.

2 cups almond milk (unsweetened vanilla) or other plant milk
2 carrots - enough to turn the smoothie bright orange
1 tablespoon sweetener - agave, maple syrup, or date syrup
Dash of cinnamon
2 bananas
1/3 cup cooked sweet potato, optional

Green Smoothie

2 ½ cups pineapple juice
½ cup orange juice
1 apple
1 pear
2 bananas
1 very large handful washed spinach

Blue/Violet Smoothie

1 cup orange juice
1/3 cup pineapple juice or 2 fresh pineapple rings
½ cup blueberry yogurt (Lorelei uses almond or soy yogurt to make the smoothie vegan)
¼ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
2 bananas

Brown Smoothie
"When you mix colors, you get mud!" Lorelei says.

2 cups pineapple juice
1 apple
½ cup dark cherries
1 handful spinach
½ lime, juiced
1 banana

Chocolate Milkshake
1 1/2 cups almond milk (unsweetened vanilla) or other plant milk

1 avocado
2 bananas

Recipe directions:

Basic guidelines:

• Use organic ingredients when available.

• Blend all the ingredients together on high speed in a 6-cup blender.

• Exact proportions are not critical. If you like the ingredients you are putting into the smoothie, you will like the smoothie.

• Be creative!

• Bananas can be frozen when ripe. Cut them and put them into ice cube tray compartments for freezing, then store the frozen chunks in a freezer bag.

• Refrigerate smoothies.

• Shake very well before serving.
