"The secret to a good milk punch is in making the simple syrup ahead of time and let it get cold before using," said Wendy Burks.

Wendy serves this recipe at her annual "Wrappan Happen” holiday party for friends.

Ingredients:

Milk Punch Ingredients:
1 gallon whole milk
I quart half and half
1.5 cups cheap brandy
1.5 cups Jack Daniels
1 cup simple syrup
¼ cup Mexican vanilla

Simple Syrup Ingredients:
2 cups white sugar
I cup water

Recipe directions:

Simple Syrup Recipe:
Simmer sugar and water over medium heat. Continuously stir for 5 minutes.

Milk Punch Recipe:
Mix ingredients together and chill. To serve, use cocktail shaker (so milk will froth) and drain. Pour in silver mint julep cups. The colder the better! Sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.

The milk punch keeps well for a few weeks in the refrigerator, or freeze for up to three months.
