The Republic Smokehouse & Saloon in Houston’s popular Midtown offers a homey setting, friendly service and an impressive burger menu. The Republic Burger is 8 ounces of brisket topped with a sweet and spicy blend of house-smoked bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and pickle on a sweet sourdough bun. When ordered medium, the patty has a perfectly pink center and savory smoky aroma. The evenly melted cheddar cheese is a tart companion to the ultimate topping of an over-medium fried egg.
