My name is Maria Morkas, and I am a senior at The Village High School. Strongly inclined to journalism, I am the Senior Editor-in-Chief for The Viking yearbook. Through this experience, I have realized that journalism has the ability to tie communities together by sharing their stories and perspectives. When I’m not working under deadlines, I enjoy competing in MUN as the Under-Secretary-General, running our school’s UNICEF club, and playing lacrosse. Having traveled to numerous different countries, I love trying new things and being immersed in diverse environments.
