Carrie Cruces (on right) with her dad in Chicago
Thanksgiving break: the much anticipated break that all St. Agnes students need desperately as a refuge from schoolwork and staying up all hours of the night. Many of our breaks were filled with roasted turkeys, sweet potatoes smothered in marshmallows, and pumpkin pies.
In addition to feasting, some SAA students took trips over the break. Carolina Cruces, or Carrie for short, traveled to Chicago where she lived when she was little - and a trip to Chicago also warrants a college visit. Carrie visited Northwestern University, where her dad received his MBA.
She said, “It was a really fun trip to see where we lived because I don’t really remember it!” Another St. Agnes student who traveled over the holidays was Lauren Henrichsen. She flew to Walnut Creek in California to have Thanksgiving dinner and later visited San Francisco. She walked around the city’s Union Square for the annual tree lighting ceremony.

Lauren celebrated the true meaning of Thanksgiving; she said, “It was so much fun to be with family and celebrate all that we have to be thankful for.”
Whether we took a plane for Thanksgiving or stayed right here in Houston, the break was enjoyed by students before the upcoming stressful midterms. Now, we are all left counting down the days till Christmas break!
