Hurrican Sisters

The “HurriCan Sisters,” (from left) Isabella (age 8), Juliana (age 6) and Audrey (age 1), will be collecting supplies this holiday season to donate to SEARCH Homeless Services. 

Deliver hope and spread holiday cheer to those in need this holiday season. Here are a few donations and drives going on this holiday season. 

Houston Area Women’s Center Holiday Gift Express
Drop off toys and gift cards for women and families dealing with the effects of sexual and domestic violence from now until Dec. 5 at the HAWC Administrative Building (1010 Waugh Dr. 77019). Or make a monetary donation.

The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s Tacky Holiday Sweater Book Drive
Join the Young Professionals Group in collecting books that will be distributed to children this holiday season on Dec. 6. Can’t make the event? Make a monetary donation or donate books anytime.   

West U Fire Department’s Toys for Tots Collection
From now until 5 p.m. on Dec. 9, drop off unwrapped toys at one of four collections sites.
Municipal Building (City Hall), 3800 University Blvd
West U Senior Services, 6104 Auden
West U Rec Center, 4210 Bellaire Blvd.
West U Fire Department, 3800 University Blvd.

Scout & Molly’s Toy Drive
Scout & Molly’s Boutique will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for local children through Toys for Tots from now until Dec. 10 (3311 Westpark Dr). Everyone who drops off toy donations will receive 15 percent off of their regular priced purchases.

“Joy with a Toy” Holiday Toy Drive

Joy with a Toy honors the memory of Dawn and Antonio Armstrong. The toy drive will help Houston area children and families.

 

From now until Dec. 15, Joy with a Toy honors the memory of Dawn and Antonio Armstrong in its ninth annual holiday toy drive to help Houston area children and families. You will be able to sponsor one child or a family with more than one child. Schedule an appointment to drop off your donation or make a monetary donation.

HurriCan Sisters
Now that hurricane season is coming to a close, please consider donating your unused hurricane supplies to be given to those in need. The “HurriCan Sisters,” Isabella (age 8), Juliana (age 6) and Audrey (age 1), will be collecting supplies Dec. 1-15 and donating them to SEARCH Homeless Services. Clear your pantry in time for the holidays and make good use of nonperishable items before they expire! Donations can be dropped at K&N Builder Sales, Jami's Fine Foods, directly at SEARCH, or arrange a drop time by emailing mom Melissa Denena at [email protected].

ABC-13’s Share Your Holidays Food Drive
With drop-off locations all over Houston, it’s easy to make a difference in the lives of those living at or below the poverty line this holiday season. Drop off non-perishable food items from now until Dec. 4 at Christian Brothers Automotive, Greater Houston Honda Dealers, Houston Fire stations and Houston Police Departments. Or make a monetary donation online.
