Hearts of gold
The Cure Starts Now kicked off a new Houston Hearts of Gold chapter at the Rings of Gold Dinner in Hunters Creek at the home of Paige and Ronnie Weinstein. The evening netted over $20,000 in donations for pediatric brain cancer research and was inspired by Nicole Lee, who died of DIPG, a rare pediatric brain cancer, at age 7. Her sister, Natalie, is a junior at Memorial High School. The Houston Hearts of Gold Committee – (pictured, from left) Kristen Valicek, Paige Weinstein, Althea Lee (Nicole’s mom), Andy Chan (Nicole’s uncle) and Dawn Wilson – are planning a walk on March 4 at Memorial High School to spread community awareness about pediatric brain cancer.
