More than 500 supporters gathered for Crime Stoppers of Houston’s annual Houston’s Heroes Awards Luncheon at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The event raised more than $135,000 to fund Crime Stoppers’ crime prevention programs and public safety initiatives.
Jacquie Baly, President and CEO of Baly Projects and FOX26 Political Analyst served as MC for the luncheon. James Conway, a national security and counterterrorism expert, provided a keynote speech on terrorism.
The individuals honored as the 2017 Houston’s Heroes included: Alan Rosen, Harris County Constable Precinct 1, The Johnny Klevenhagen Award; Brenda Stardig, City of Houston Council Member, District A, The Leon Goldstein Award; Steve Mach, Chairman of the Texas Public Safety Commission, The Leiv Platou Award; Constance White, The Safe School Award. Both Merriman Holt Powell Architects and Mission Constructors, Inc., were honored with The Corporate Partnership Award.
“In thinking about our honorees and the work they do both professionally and personally as well as those in the room of this annual event, I am reminded that we are a city blessed with the best of the best,” said Rania Mankarious, Executive Director of Crime Stoppers.
