Concert

Haley Kurisky, passionate about live music, attended multiple concerts while on a recent trip to New Orleans and plans to see many artists this month in Houston.

Although July seems to be the month where everyone goes on vacation, if you're stuck in Houston, you might as well keep yourself busy. There are lots of good concerts this month, and with it being summer, you can stay out a little later and enjoy. Appreciate the extra air conditioning that venues have and get out of the house for a while!

Jul 1: Brahms' Symphony No. 4 @ Miller Outdoor Theatre

Catch a free symphony at Miller Outdoor Theatre to kick off July!

Jul 1: Prince Royce @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Prince Royce is a Latino artist with tons of catchy songs.

Jul 2: Diana Ross @ Smart Financial Centre

Diana Ross is a classic act, and is a perfect fit for the impressive Smart Financial Centre.

Jul 3: Carlos Santana @ Smart Financial Centre

Santana is one of my favorite artists. He typically plays at Cynthia Woods Mitchell, so seeing him at Smart Financial might provide an entirely different experience.

Jul 4: Star-Spangled Salute! @ Miller Outdoor Theatre

Celebrate the Fourth of July with a concert and fireworks in Hermann Park.

Jul 6: Roger Waters @ Toyota Center

Roger Waters' tour is getting great reviews, as it presents incredible visuals through lights and animatronics.

Jul 7: The Molly Ringwalds @ House of Blues

The Molly Ringwalds are a fun band that will make you want to dance and sing along, even if you don't really know any ’80s songs.

Jul. 7: DJ Wes Wallace @ Numbers

Numbers is a nightclub, and DJ Wes Wallace is one of Houston's premiere DJs, known for playing music that suits a wide range of tastes and ages.

Jul 7: Improv! The Musical @ Comedy Sportz Houston

Comedy Sportz is Houston's leading improv comedy stops. Their musical combines comedy and music.

Jul 9: Megadeath and Meshuggah @ Revention Music Center

For all the hard rockers/metal lovers out there, this concert is your best bet for July.

Jul 12: Journey @ Smart Financial Centre

Journey is a must-see for classic rock lovers.

Jul 14: Third Eye Blind @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Third Eye Blind is known for its alternative rock style music, and will do well at Cynthia Woods.

Jul 15: Travis Scott, D.R.A.M., and Kendrick Lamar @ Toyota Center

This will be one of the biggest events of the summer for rap fans in Houston. Travis Scott is a Houston native, and Kendrick is known for his amazing live shows at places like ACL.

Jul 15: B.o.B. @ Warehouse Live

B.o.B. sang the hit "Magic" a few years ago, and still tours playing his hits.

Jul 21: Summer Music Festival @ the Four Seasons Hotel

This year, the Four Seasons is hosting multiple concerts by the pool of their hotel with food and drinks. It sounds really fun!

Jul 22: Shawn Mendes @ Toyota Center

After becoming famous on Vine, where users post 6-second videos, Shawn Mendes has grown in popularity, even playing at the Houston Rodeo this year. If you missed out on seeing him then, now is your chance!

Jul 26: Idina Menzel @ Smart Financial Centre

Idina Menzel, otherwise known as Elphaba in Wicked and the voice of Elsa in Frozen, is showcasing her voice in a cross-country tour.

Jul 28: Khalid @ Revention Music Center

Khalid is a rapper quickly growing in popularity. See him before he gets really big.

Jul 28: Yo Gotti and Meek Mill @ House of Blues

Another great rap concert this summer - Yo Gotti and Meek Mill are each doing their own performances and then rapping together within this one show.

Jul 28: Daughtry and Nickelback @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Throwback! Nickelback and Daughtry were popular a while back. Since then, Nickelback has been the butt of many jokes, but hardcore fans will get the opportunity to see them in a fun outdoor space.

Jul 29: Blue Oyster Cult @ White Oak Music Hall Downstairs

Blue Oyster Cult is a great rock band with hits like "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Burnin for You." You will most likely see me at this show if you go!

Jul 29: Michelle Branch @ The Heights Theater

Michelle Branch is another throwback, but with hits like "Everywhere" and "Are You Happy Now?", she has proven that she can stand the test of time.

Jul 30: TLC @ NRG Arena

TLC is putting on a big ’90s party at NRG. They are featured along a dozen or so other bands to celebrate the era dedicated to grunge and crop tops.

Jul 30: Van's Warped Tour @ NRG Park

Warped Tour comes again to Houston, where it features rock, metal, alternative and punk bands.
