Bayou City, the first chapter of the philanthropic mother-daughter National Charity League (NCL​)​ in Houston, celebrated ​its 25th anniversary. Last year its​ ​members​ volunteered more than 9,000 hours to​ ​more than 20​ charities. Bayou City’s class of 2020 is made up of ​38 ​girls ​representing six high schools. Recently, the new class leaders​​ had an officer’s retreat​ ​to plan the upcoming year. They will help the following charities:​ The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation, Kids’ Meals, Memorial Area Ministries and Easter Seals.
