Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

Happy Friday! Here are some ideas of what to do for the first official weekend of 2018.
The SALE, a unique 2-day shopping experience, takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the Bayou City Event Center. The event will support Texas Children’s Cancer Center. See more about the event here.
Direct Energy Concert with Brant Croucher and Friends at Levy Park
The popular Texas band Brant Croucher and Friends will headline a free concert at Levy Park on Saturday. Blues musician Mark May and Raa RAa Blues & Zydeco will also perform. Texas-based celebrity chef Tim Love and his team are providing delectable food offerings and beverages.
The Museum of Fine, Arts Houston is featuring award-winning short films on Saturday, free with general admission.
This unique 5K lets you glow in the dark while you choose to sprint, run or walk. Afterward, stick around for an After Run Party. The event spreads awareness for childhood cancer.
The seventh annual Galveston.com & Company Galveston Restaurant Week kicks off on Saturday, continuing through Jan. 21. Participating restaurants will offer prix-fixe lunch and/or dinner menus. See more details here.
It’s the last call for many holiday events, such as Christmas Village at Bayou Bend, Ice Land and Festival of Lights and Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker.
