The Texas Music Festival Orchestra Series will lift off Saturday, June 9.

Sawyer Yards Second Saturday
If you are a lover of the local arts scene, be sure to head to Sawyer Yards’ Second Saturday event. Sawyer Yards features five studio buildings filled with paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photography, mixed media and more. Discover some new art and chat with local artists to learn about their work.
281-Night Market
Head down to Discovery Green for a family-friendly day of food and fun! This festival features over a dozen different food vendors and several live performances from local dance companies. The park’s playground and roller-rink will also be open for all to enjoy on this fun-filled day. Don’t forget to bring along your dog!
Madness on Main
Head to Main Street this Saturday to enjoy an all-ages music festival, held at White Oak Music Hall and Raven Tower, that features a lineup of over 20 emerging artists. While at the festival, browse an art, fashion and handcrafted goods market as well as a variety of food trucks.
Saint Arnold Brewing Company 24th Anniversary Party
For those 21 and older, enjoy an evening of beverages and local music celebrating Saint Arnold Brewing Company’s 24th anniversary. This party features a music showcase of 13 Texas-based artists as well as alcoholic beverages available for purchase.
Cosmic Beginnings
If you’re a fan of classical, this space-themed performance, held at Moores Opera House at the University of Houston, is sure to be out of this world. Listen to the Texas Music Festival Orchestra strike up Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30 (the soundtrack of 2001: A Space Odyssey) and Gustav Holst’s The Planets, Op. 32.
Penn & Teller
Enjoy a night of magic and comedy at Jones Hall with Penn & Teller, two well-known magicians and entertainers. Presented by the Society for the Performing Arts, this evening is sure to be an enjoyable one!
