Publisher's Note - July 2018

This issue reveals the winners of our 13th annual Buzz Photo Contest. As The Buzz has grown, so has our contest. What began with residents dropping off a few hundred photos on CDs has evolved into a contest with more than 1,500 online submissions, judged by a panel of professional photographers. The quality of entries in our amateur-photographer contest compares to that of many professional contests. While I do not have a “vote,” I always enjoy sitting in on the judging. It gives me a greater appreciation of everything that makes a memorable photo. I also love to hear the stories behind the images, and the techniques photographers used to capture the photos.
