Holiday magic
Christian Community Service Center’s annual Jingle Bell Express event served 2,865 youth (newborns to 15 years) who received new toys and books as well as food packages for their families. The CCSC event took place at Bellaire United Methodist Church and was supported by CCSC’s 42 member churches. More than 700 volunteers put in more than 2,500 hours to make this holiday magic happen. The program is unique in that it offers multiple layers of service to meet important childhood needs – play, literacy and hunger – while allowing parents to select items for their own children. Jingle Bell Express committee members included Rachel Gremillion, Shawn Gallagher, Manju Monga, Nann Gallagher, Katy Dunbar, Julie Gremillion, Loretta and David Elledge, Ken Schwenke, Dixie Sasu, Mandy Nathan and Bob Haines.
