On Friday, Feb. 8, St Agnes held the annual International Food Festival. The International Food Festival, more commonly known as “Food Fest” or “IFF” is a tradition at St. Agnes where students bring food from all around the world to enjoy during lunch. The school was buzzing with excitement as desserts piled onto tables, overflowing with sweetness. Students and faculty enjoyed a fun day, tasting cuisines from different countries around the world!
To limit the amount of chaos, students were dismissed by grade level.
Senior Kelly Thomas brought a bag of shredded cheese for the taco bar. Her favorite food was the Asian food. “I always love the egg rolls, spring rolls, and dumplings from International Food Festival. I also had some of the best tres leches I’ve ever had in my life!”
Junior Kaitlynn Carroll gets more and more excited for Food Fest every time, because each year she has more options to choose from. Kaitlynn brought an apple pie because it is a dessert that she’s grown up eating. Her favorite food was a pastry she ate that was the size of her face!
Sophomore Lily Mayo says she always enjoys International Food Festival. She didn’t bring anything this year, but her mom volunteered to set up and serve food. “My family comes from England, and even though I didn’t bring anything, I think my mom’s British accent led students to try more British pastries and goods!”
Freshman Cece Lee enjoyed the Asian food the most. She says that “all the moms were really nice, and the noodles were amazing!” She also enjoyed trying crepes from the European table, because she is a French student, and recently learned about their culture.
International Food Festival is a tradition students look forward to enjoying every year! With the help of students, faculty and volunteers, this year’s Food Fest was one of the best!
