With summer vacation just starting, here is a list of fun, exciting events to enjoy with friends and family!
Wine and Food Week 2019
Wine & Food Week in The Woodlands is a great way for food and wine lovers to experience all kinds of culinary talent from around the world. This year, Wine & Food Week will host more than 75 chefs and hundreds of wines. Taste wines at wine tastings, wine dinners, seminars and enjoy events such as Sips, Suds & Tacos, and the HEB Wine Walk at Market Street.
Party on the Patio Concert Series
West University Place Party on the Patio hosts a lineup of local bands on four consecutive Fridays in June. This week, look forward to the Fab 5, 7-9 p.m. on the Colonial Park Deck. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music.
Texas Music Festival
This month marks the 30th Anniversary of the Texas Music Festival. This year, three former TMF Fellows will return to the Moores Opera House at the University of Houston as guest artists. Come listen to orchestral and chamber music performances by students, faculty, and guest artists. See the full lineup here.
UT Health’s Stomp Out Stroke Festival
Find out more about stroke by attending the seventh annual Stomp Out Stroke Festival. It takes place on Discovery Green’s Jones Lawn and will provide lifesaving information about stroke prevention and treatment, free health screenings, and family-friendly entertainment, which includes inflatable exhibits, balloon art, ice sculpting, ballet folklorico dancing, live music, and more.
Humphreys School of Musical Theatre is coming to Miller Outdoor Theatre with The Addams Family, a family-friendly musical comedy. Pack a picnic and enjoy the show based on the characters by Charles Addams.
Second Sunday Revival
Second Sunday Revivals hosts events around plays on definitions of “revival.” The Second Sunday Revival series will be “Right Round Baby” in June. The event is free and suitable for all ages. Outside alcohol isn’t allowed, but food and drink will be available for purchase online.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand
Have a glass of lemonade in CityCentre with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national cancer foundation dedicated to raising money for research into new treatments and cures for children battling cancer.
The FOMO Factory
With this immersive and interactive pop up inspired by youth, take a trip through childhood nostalgia starting on June 7. Visit 17 rooms, all filled with different sights, scents, tastes, and interaction. Hop on the swing in the Playground room, draw on the walls of a room-sized coloring book, or jump into a giant ball pit.
Gulf Coast Volleyball Association’s “School’s Out Beach Party”
Bring your friends, family, and volleyballs to the GCVA’s School’s Out Beach Party. This is a great opportunity to soak up sun outside and participate in sports tournaments. Entry fee is $25/person and $50/team.
