Finish to famish
Turkey Trot

The Turkey Trot that BakerRipley Houston held on Thanksgiving Day had over 2,100 participants, some in strollers. There were 17 runners who were 75 and older in both the 5k and the 10k. There were a few 89 year olds and a 90 year old. Dale and Leah Mathews, not in either of those age groups, have run the trot every year since they moved to Houston with their son Greg and their daughter Michelle, who this year came in from New York. It was a warm and windy day, and they were ready to eat turkey when they “famished.”

Although Sharon Brier grew up in the Rio Grande Valley she left as soon as she could and found herself immersed in all that Houston has to offer.
