Editor's Note - January 2020
I am trying not to sound clichéd, but, man, I can’t believe it’s 2020. Every year, I set the same New Year’s resolutions: lose 10 pounds, get organized and take a Spanish class. This holiday season, I had one goal – take on the guest bathroom. I found myself at Pottery Barn six times in three days. Meanwhile, my friend is on track to accomplish a really big goal: going back to school to be a nurse practitioner. When she got a break from class, she called me. Where are you? I told her I was at Pottery Barn. She called me two more times in between grueling exams. Each time, yep, I was back at Pottery Barn, shopping for the same tiny bathroom. It may be time to up my goal game. In this issue, we feature neighbors conquering major goals, from running a marathon on every continent to checking off a bucket-list trip at 100 years old to traveling alone (for the first time) in her 80s to mastering mah jongg. I am inspired. Feliz año nuevo! There, I spoke Spanish. Check! [email protected]
