Helping Lake Charles
Students who had been impacted by Houston floods were moved to help neighbors in Lake Charles after Hurricane Laura hit. They hosted an emergency-supplies drive at Evelyn’s Park, collecting cleaning supplies, PPE items, diapers and more. Over just a few days, they collected 15 SUV-filled trips of supplies, which were delivered to the nonprofit Bethel’s Place Empowerment Center. The center then dispatched 18-wheelers to Hurricane Laura victims.
