Buzzing about Baseball: Little League Champs

The Bellaire, West University, and Post Oak Little Leagues have battled through tough competitions this season and ended up on top. Congratulations to these champions! And best of luck to Bellaire Little League Cardinals as they head to the state championship this weekend. Here are some updates on Buzz-area Little League teams: 


The West U Little League 13U champions after their win. The West University Little League brought home two state championship titles. The 13U intermediate and 15U Seniors beat Brenham and Seguin respectively at the West U South Campus Field to secure the state championship titles.

The Bellaire Little League Cardinals are the 10U Section 3 Champs. They beat Pearland Little League to claim the title as the best 10-year-old team in the region. Next week, they head to Tyler, TX for the state championship on Saturday, July 17. The championship game is as far as the 10U level plays, but this team will have another chance at the road to the Little League World Series when they turn 12.


Team Manager is Stephen Smith, and the coaches are Carter Ayers and Hunter Sage. Players are Conrad Bennett, Andrew Dollinger, Henry Groves, Cooper Hutcheson, Holden Jones , Jirius Khoury, Joshua Meeks, Hunter Miclette, Walker O’Pry, Hunter Sage, Thomas Smith, Henry Van Os, and Parker Welty. The Post Oak Little League 12U Team made it to sectionals but lost in a double sudden death overtime 1-2 to Pearland Little League. It was a great game, and the boys battled until the very end. This team has been together since 2018. They were district champs in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
