George Hermann's 178th Birthday
Celebrate the 178th birthday of Hermann Park’s namesake, George Hermann. Children under 12 can ride the Hermann Park train for $1.78 between 10 a.m. and noon and visitors can take advantage of deals on food at Ginger Kale and Gelu Italian Ice for $1.78. Grab a slice of complimentary cake, get your face painted, and do arts and crafts while supplies last. This event is free and open to the public.
Party at The Pavilion
On Friday night, The Fab 5 will rock out on the Great Lawn at Bellaire Town Square. The Orleans Seafood Kitchen Food Truck will be on site. This event is free and open to the public.
The Riot Comedy Show presents "Off Script"
On Friday night at Rudyard’s Pub, The Riot Comedy Show goes “Off Script.” Come watch a standup comedy show, where heckling is encouraged at 7:30 p.m. or 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Houston Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare Night at the Movies
On Friday and Saturday night at Miller Outdoor Theatre, Houston Shakespeare Festival will be playing Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo + Juliet. Each night will have pre-screening lecture by theatre historian and HSF executive Director Dr. Rob Shimko that begins at 7:40 at the raised picnic table area near the concession stand. This event is free and open to the public.
Young Audiences of Houston at Levy Park
Young Audiences of Houston come to Levy Park on Saturday afternoon. Join teaching artist Marsha Dorsey Outlaw as she guides children 6 and up in creating pinwheels, bringing together art and physics. This event is free and open to the public.
First Saturday Arts Market
The Arts Market is located in the parking lot at 540 W. 19th St., in the heart of the Heights. The market showcases paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, and handcrafted items. There will also be live music and food for purchase. This event is free and open to the public.
Summer Block Parties sponsored by Texas Children's Hospital
Summer Block Parties at Levy Park presented by Texas Children’s Hospital wraps up this Sunday evening. The event is free and open to the public. Listen to live music and enjoy activities for the whole family.
Young Artist Showcase
On Sunday evening at Evelyn’s Park, come see talented musicians-in-the-making perform live. This event is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at Betsy’s.
Astros vs. Twins
The Astros face the Twins at Minute Maid Park on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
