West U's Party on the Patio 2022
The City of West University Place Parks & Recreation and Friends of West University Parks Fund hosts its annual Party on the Patio Concert Series this summer, sponsored by the Anderson DuMay team. From 7-9 p.m. this Friday you can listen to the Fab 5 on the wooden deck at Colonial Park Pool. The event is complimentary, but if you wish to swim regular pool admission applies.
Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels
The Astros defend Minute Maid Park from the boys from LA in a three-game series. The first game starts this Friday at 7:10 p.m., the second at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, and the final game on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. Tickets start at $29.
Houston Dash vs. Kansas City Current
Join the women of the Houston Dash as they defend their home turf against the Kansas City Current at PNC Stadium this Friday at 7:30 p.m. This game is 713 day, which features $7 tickets, $1 hot dogs, and $3 beers.
Kidpendence Week at Children’s Museum Houston
Children’s Museum Houston is celebrating the Fourth of July weekend this Friday and Saturday as part of their “Kidpendence Week.” The stars and stripes will be in full effect as the museum celebrates the land of the free and the home of the brave. They have tons of activities onsite and off to celebrate America’s birthday – kid style! Make sure to bring a camera for a meet and greet with Captain America on Saturday, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The museum is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and admission is $15 for adults and children over 1.
Summer Symphony Nights at Miller Outdoor Theatre
The Summer Symphony returns to Miller’s Outdoor Theatre this Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. These fun-filled, family-friendly evenings showcase outstanding local, national, and international soloists and conductors alongside the outstanding musicians that make up your orchestra. All performances are Miller Outdoor Theatre are free.
Independence Day Festival
Railway Heights Market is hosting a free Independence Festival on Sunday from 2-10 p.m.! It’s sure to be a good time, with over 70+ vendors, live music, and a kids area. Plus, enjoy a BBQ food festival featuring Texas BBQ along with a roasted pig, crawfish, chicken, fajitas, hot dogs, and more.
West University July 4th Bike Parade and Pool Party
Get out your bike, tricycles, strollers, or wagons this Monday and enjoy a patriotic walk/bike from West U Elementary school to Colonial Park Pool. To participate, dress up or decorate your ride in patriotic style. The parade lineup will start at 8:45 a.m. in front of West U Elementary school on University Blvd. and start at 9 a.m. and end at Colonial Park Pool. The celebrations continue till 12 p.m. While the parade is going on there will also be contests you can attend such as a water balloon toss, frozen t-shirts, kids cannonball splash and belly flop. Festivities will be free.
Bellaire Celebration of Independence Parade & Festival
Celebrate America’s independence at Bellaire’s annual Parade and Festival this Fourth of July at 9:30 a.m. The parade will start at S. Rice Ave. and Valerie St. and the Children's Bike Parade will start at S. Rice Ave. and Evergreen St. Both parades will end at S. Rice Ave. and Linden St. After the parade, the festival will begin around 10 a.m. on the Great Lawn and in Loftin Park, featuring food, live music, and more. The event is free and open to the public.
Villages Independence Festival Parade
The Memorial Villages' Independence Day Car/Bicycle Parade will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. and is free to all attendees. The patriotic parade will travel down Piney Point Road. There will also be an open, non-timed “Fun Run” and children’s bike ride to kick off the parade. Meet up at the Memorial High field house parking lot at 9:45 a.m. Runners will go first. The run is a true Fun Run - no timers, no categories, no pressure. Shortly after the runners leave, there will be a Children’s Bike Ride. Riders of all ages are encouraged to decorate their bikes and ride the parade route. Next, it is the vehicle parade starting at 10 a.m. Residents who wish to join in are encouraged to decorate their vehicles following a Red, White and Blue theme.
Fourth of July Celebration at Bayou Bend
Celebrate Independence Day this Monday from 1-5 p.m. at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, Houston’s home for American decorative arts. With its unique blend of the arts and American history, Bayou Bend is the perfect place to salute freedom in style. The annual festival features an extravaganza of Americana, with performers, crafts, activities, and refreshments. Be sure to sign the giant Declaration of Independence before you leave! Admission is free.
Freedom over Texas 2022
Following two years of a reimagined celebration, this year’s Freedom Over Texas will return to an in-person event filled with six-hours of festivities, tradition, and live concert stages, at Eleanor Tinsley and Sam Houston Parks on Buffalo Bayou. Freedom Over Texas will feature local, regional, and national entertainment and will be capped off with a musically choreographed, “Texas-sized” fireworks finale. This Monday enjoy live music and activities for the whole family from 4 -10 p.m. with an extraordinary firework show to end the night. Admission is $10 per person and free for those under 5.
CityCentre Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular
Let freedom ring this Fourth of July at CityCentre's Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular! Grab your family and friends to join in on the summer celebration this Monday from 7-11 p.m. at CityCentre with a fun-filled evening of food, fireworks, and freedom. Look forward to live music by After Party from 7-11 p.m. A show-stopping 10-minute fireworks display will illuminate the night sky at 9:30 p.m. – topping off the festive celebration with a moment to remember! All events are free and open to the public.
