La dolce vita

Anita Sehgal, Samantha Kennedy, Johnny Carrabba III, Rose Carrabba, Sarah Lauderdale Hill, Hannah Van Auken, Theresa Mangiameli, Heidi Turney, Barry Turney, Saula Valente, Warner Roberts, and Cliff and Angie Roberts joined fellow supporters of The Mission of Yahweh at the inaugural Leaders & Legends gala that recognized the Johnny Carrabba Family and Donna Vallone for their commitment to the community. The event, chaired by Kennedy and Saula Valente with honorary chair Warner Roberts, was held at River Oaks Country Club and raised more than $600,000 to support and expand The Mission’s efforts to provide emergency housing for women and children. KHOU Great Day Houston’s Deborah Duncan served as emcee and welcomed guests to the ballroom for the Italian dolce vita-themed event under a veranda of olive trees and fresh flowers. Guests enjoyed entertainment from the Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes Academy orchestra, as well as a surprise operatic performance by The Three Waiters, a professional vocal group disguised as waiters for the evening.
