This weekend is chock full of fun, family-friendly events around town, including popular annual fall events such as Houston’s Arboretum’s ArBOOretum, Nature Discovery Center’s Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival, Space Center Houston’s Galaxy Frights, Buffalo Park’s KBR Kids Day, and more. Sunset Bingo at Levy Park

Play Bingo benefiting Levy Park! Bring a blanket or utilize the park’s furniture and enjoy tunes from DJ Del Sur. Hearsay at Levy Park will be offering 10 percent off at their patio bar during all Bingo games; Gaspachos Mexican Bites will have food and beverage offerings, including alcohol; Kind Ice Cream will be offering a 10 percent discount for those who show a bingo card; Mobile Cat will offer a limited food menu.

Musiqa presents Sound and Light, a marriage of live contemporary chamber music performance and visual art. The first half of the program features Anthony Brandt’s stunning Diabelli 200, a hybrid art-science performance that uses neuroscience to take viewers inside the brains of the performers. The second half of the program features Karim Al-Zand’s Cinderella and Pierre Jalbert’s Visual Abstract, both of which take their inspiration from silent films.

Children's Museum Houston has been transformed into the BOOseum. The museum offers a ton of spirited Halloween fun, including trick-or-treating every day, slime-making, DJ dance parties, and a whole host of Halloween-themed activities and events. This Saturday, special events include Mad Science themed activities and Halloween Monster Mayhem.

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center hosts its popular ArBOOretum this Saturday (last entry is 3 p.m.), a day full of fun, family-friendly activities. The Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail will lead kids on an adventure of discovery where they will learn about creatures that live at the Arboretum, while collecting candy along the way. Other favorite ArBOOretum activities throughout the day include carnival swings, a Halloween market, animal encounters, pumpkin decorating, and train rides. Proceeds benefit the Arboretum's mission of nature education and conservation. Food trucks will be available.
Halloween in the Hangar

The Lone Star Flight Museum

Kids will enjoy trick or treating amongst the historic aircraft at the museum, participating in hands-on STEM activities, spooky crafts, and a (not-so-scary) story time. Kids ages 10 and under in costume will get in free!

Nature Discovery Center's annual Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival includes tens of thousands of pumpkins, fun festival games, crafts and activities, delicious foods, informal family photo ops, opportunities to meet the animals, and more. There will be a variety of vendors and food trucks all weekend.
2024 KBR Kids Day & Tony Marron Park Send-Off

Thousands of families will gather at Tony Marron Park in the Buffalo Bayou East for the annual family-friendly festival with tons of activities and performances. Halloween costumes are encouraged. KBR Kids Day activities include hands-on nature activities, pumpkin carving by local artists, a rock climbing wall, a scavenger hunt, birding and nature walks, music and dance performances, birds of prey show, and a Halloween costume parade. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on-site. This year, there will be a special ground-breaking activity to bid a temporary farewell to Tony Marron Park before it begins construction in late 2024.
