Happy Friday! There are lots of fun events happening around town this weekend, including:

This is the last weekend to check out The Great Elephant Migration at Hermann Park, a public art installation featuring 100 life-sized sculptures of Indian elephants made from dried lantana plants. The free, public art installation invites visitors to experience the beauty of wildlife conservation and sustainability. Hermann Park Conservancy, in partnership with a handful of local organizations, presents a series of engaging activities and events alongside the installation. Special events this weekend include: Friday, April 25, 7 p.m.: Evening Yoga with Black Swan Yoga; Sat., April 26, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Youth Empowerment Workshop: Native Seed Bombs Hosted by Master Gardeners; Sun., April 27, 10 a.m.: Houston Public Library Storytime.

Join Houston Parks Board and the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art for the fourth annual Houston Art Bike Parade & Festival on Saturday, April 26, at Fonde Park. This event celebrates the artist in everyone – fostering creativity and connecting Houstonians together in a beautiful local greenspace. The parade lineup begins at 9 a.m. with a vibrant display of art bikes created by community members, local arts clubs, and students from local elementary and middle schools. Following the parade, event partners will announce and distribute awards for creativity. Throughout the event, attendees will also enjoy food and community & art activations including face painting and outdoor games. The Art Bike Parade & Festival is presented in partnership with Houston Parks and Recreation Department, the Mayor’s Office of Special Events, and Houston Independent School District.

The Spring Arts & Crafts Festival, hosted by the Bellaire Culture & Arts Board, features local artists showcasing their work and delicious food from local restaurants like 401 Table & Tap and Mama's Tamales will be available. Guests may purchase wine at the event, and dogs on leashes are welcome. Note: A new shuttle bus service has been added to make it easier to go between the Spring Arts & Crafts Festival and Picnic in the Park at Evelyn’s Park on Saturday: Park at 5130 Bellaire Blvd (the old Randalls lot) and enjoy complimentary rides between the Bellaire Arts & Crafts Festival at Paseo Park and Picnic in the Park at Evelyn's Park.

The Sugar Land Arts & Music Fest, hosted by the Sugar Land Cultural Arts Foundation, is a two-day festival featuring 100 artist booths, live entertainment, local cuisine, a children's activity tent, and a wine and beer garden.

The Sugar Land Arts & Music Fest, hosted by the Sugar Land Cultural Arts Foundation, is a two-day festival highlighting the cultural and artistic diversity of Fort Bend County and beyond. The family-friendly event features live entertainment, food from local restaurants, a children’s activity tent, and a wine and beer garden. The event will feature 100 artist booths, live mural painting, and more.

The Ismaili Council for the Southwestern USA presents the Navroz Spring Festival at Buffalo Bayou Park. “Navroz” or “Nowruz” translates to "new day" in Persian. It marks the beginning of spring and is celebrated by various cultures, notably in Iran, Central Asia, the Middle East, and by some communities in India and Pakistan. It's a day of immense cultural significance, symbolizing renewal, rebirth and a new future. The festival includes cultural performances, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and more. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair, wear festive attire, and enjoy the day with family and friends. Pets are welcome.
Citywide Yom HaShoah Observance

Congregation Brith Shalom
Holocaust Museum Houston will host the annual Yom HaShoah observance at Congregation Brith Shalom. During this citywide commemoration, the community mourns the loss of the 6 million Jewish people who perished in the Holocaust, honors those who survived, and comes together to remember and reflect. The invocation for the ceremony will be led by Rabbi Ranon Teller, with remarks by The Honorable Livia Link-Raviv, Consul General of Israel to the Southwest, songs from local cantors, a Holocaust survivor testimony from Michael Spiegel and a candle lighting ceremony with local Holocaust survivors.
