Celebrate Mother’s Day at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens surrounded by the beauty of nature, art, and music. Self-guided tours highlight art that tells the story of motherhood in early America. Harpist Hope Cowan performs on Saturday from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and harpist Naomi Hoffmeyer performs on Sunday from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Complimentary cookies, lemonade, and water are available for all visitors.

The Houston Botanic Garden presents Beyond Bouquets, a spring festival honoring mothers and other special nurturing people, including a mid-day concert from Yelba’s Variety Band. In addition, attendees can enjoy a Family Fun Zone, including “Mommy and me” crafts; shop a festive market featuring local artists and vendors; buy selected plants from the Garden and ask plant questions of our horticulture experts; and snap plenty of beautiful photos against lush natural backdrops and curated photo op stations.

Bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs to The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park in May and early June for an afternoon of family-friendly live music celebrating the rich tradition of jazz and the incredible Houstonians who preserve the artform.

Bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs for an afternoon of family-friendly live music.
