Honor Hispanic Heritage Month with an exceptional performance led by Houston Symphony Music Director Juraj Valčuha on the Miller stage. The full Houston Symphony performs lively, dance-inspired pieces, including Revueltas’s Dances from Estancia and Ginastera’s Sensemayá. Then, Leonard Bernstein’s beloved West Side Story takes center stage, complete with all its rhythmic flair. Ravel’s popular Boléro caps off the evening in this celebration of music and community.

Every September, many Latin American countries celebrate their independence from colonial rule. In Houston, the Fiestas Patrias International Parade will honor history while uniting the city’s vibrant Hispanic and Latino communities. Expect colorful floats, lively mariachis, graceful folklórico dancers, gleaming lowriders, and energetic school bands, all coming together to celebrate heritage, pride, and community. The parade starts at Dallas on Bagby and ends at Lamar at Bagby.

The Houston Farmers Market kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month with a lively celebration, including a Spanish puppet show for children by Mr. Leo Puppet Show, appearances from beloved characters, live music from a DJ, Mariachi, and the high-energy Cumbia band Son Bayou. The celebration also features a free Salsa class from Latin Dance Factory and a performance by Mixteco Ballet Folklorico.

POST Houston and T2 Dance Company presents HTX Diwali 2025, a free celebration of the Festival of Lights. The daylong event will feature yoga, cultural dance lessons including Bollywood, Bhangra and Garba, live music and performances, a Diwali shopping bazaar, arts and crafts, storytelling, a cultural fashion show and a rooftop dance party. Additional cultural pop-ups and activities will take place throughout the venue. Guests are encouraged to wear festive attire and join in a celebration that honors the joy, warmth, and togetherness that Diwali represents.
