It’s the weekend before Halloween and there are tons of fun events happening! (Note: Please check individual event sites for any weather-related updates. Multiple Saturday events have been canceled due to storms in the forecast.)

West U neighbors, don’t miss the annual Full Moon Fest this evening at Colonial Park. There will be bounce houses, face painting, activity booths, a pumpkin patch, and a costume contest. The festival will be followed by a showing of the featured film The Wild Robot (PG) at 7 p.m.

The Karbach Brewing Monster Mash Run takes place on Sat., Oct. 25. Run for great causes followed by a spooktacular Monster Mash after-party.

The Monster Mash Run includes a 10K, 5K, and Kids/Family 1K, followed by a fun, family-friendly afterparty at Karbach. The 10K and 5K takes place at 7:30 a.m.; awards ceremony at 9:15 a.m.; and kids/family 1K at 9:30 a.m. Costumes are encouraged. Proceeds benefit Ainsley’s Angels Southeast Texas, The Asher House Animal Sanctuary, and LifeGift Organ Donation.

Nature Discovery Center's annual fall festival and pumpkin patch includes two days of fall fun for the whole family, including a horse-drawn wagon ride, costume contest, dog costume parade (Sunday only), a ton of festival games, activities, food trucks and vendors, and more. Pumpkins may be purchased at the Pumpkin Tent on the front lawn both days.

Get in the Halloween spirit at the MVPD Trunk or Treat Festival, Oct. 25, 6-8:30 p.m. There will be lots of treats, popcorn, cotton candy and Kona Ice. Hot dogs will be available for $2 each. This year the MVPD is partnering with the Memorial High School National Honor Society Club and students will help with the Haunted House and by hosting over 30 student vehicles decorated for Halloween. Parking will be across the street at the Eighth Church of Christ (11976 Memorial Dr.).
