AFA 2016 Summer Music Conservatory Collaborations Concert
AFA presents its 2016 Summer Music Conservatory Concert Series from June 22-July 16. Featuring the best and brightest young musicians and composers from the greater Houston area, these concerts are FREE and open to the public. Collaborations Concert Presented with the HSPVA Piano Department. A concert of music for four- and six-hand piano performed by AFA faculty and alumni.
Featuring a world premiere composition by AFA alumnus Ross Griffey, plus a program of 20th-century works based on the theme “to cause vibrations in the soul.”
AFA enriches the lives of young people through music. Each year, AFA presents its signature Summer Music Conservatory and a variety of outstanding year-round experiences including the Houston Girls Chorus, the Chamber Music Academy and the Composer Institute. Taken together, AFA serves more than 2,000 young people every year and presents dozens of free performances and outreach concerts throughout the greater Houston area.
