A Screening of “No Small Matter”
Join The Health Museum for a screening of No Small Matter in partnership with the Greater Houston Chapter of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children. This event will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2020, from 5-7 p.m. and is free for guests with registration, or guests have the option to purchase a ticket, which includes light bites and cocktails.
No Small Matter is the first feature documentary to explore the most overlooked, underestimated, and powerful force for change in America today: early childhood education. Through poignant stories and surprising humor, the film lays out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years of a child’s life, and reveals how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for American families, and a slow-motion catastrophe for the country.
Following the screening, there will be a Q& A where guests will be able to dive deep into the complicated science, history, and sociology that has brought our early care and education system to where it is today.
