Touchdown Tour
The Houston Super Bowl Host Committee is inviting everyone to celebrate the start of football season and the beginning of the road to Super Bowl LI by visiting its Touchdown Tour, the first of its football-themed events this fall. The Touchdown Tour will feature interactive games, a Houston Texans mobile locker room, giveaways, music and more. A beer garden and food will be available for purchase.
The kickoff event will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Aug. 27 in the parking lot of Space Center Houston. Retired astronaut Scott Kelly, who recently returned from a year in space, will return the NFL football that spent five months alongside him in the International Space Station to the Host Committee in a special 10:30 a.m. ceremony. While entry to the Touchdown Tour is free, the normal $6 charge for on-site parking at Space Center Houston will be in place.
In addition to football-themed activities, guests will be able to enjoy unique experiences from both NASA and Space Center Houston, like the Driven to Explore multi-media mobile exhibit and a display of the Orion capsule, NASA’s new and most-advanced spacecraft. Additionally, visitors with a ticket to enter Space Center Houston will find a day of special activities inside, including pop-up science labs, four panels of astronauts, and other space experts speaking about the shuttle program, commercial spaceflight, deep-space exploration and space station science. Additionally, tickets are available to have a special Lunch with an Astronaut and also experience other activities at the Center.
