West U Little League Opening Day Ceremony, Carnival and Bazaar

The 2015 West University Little League Season begins Saturday, March 7 with its Opening Day Ceremony, Carnival and Bazaar. Thanks to the generosity of Cadence Bank, the Carnival’s Grand Sponsor, the event is free and open to the public.

The Carnival will begin after Opening Ceremonies, from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on the south side of West University Elementary School in the 3700 block of University Blvd. The “Go Green” Carnival is an annual event which is enthusiastically anticipated by all players and their families. From giant inflatables, a rock wall, and dozens of games, to the ever-popular confetti eggs, there will be something for all ages to enjoy. Capture the memories of the day at the Celebri-T’s photo booth. There will also be local retail vendors offering items at the Bazaar: Lariats by Lily, Stella & Dot, Savvy & Grace, Jamberry, and Harlan & Co. Wristbands, arm sleeves and sports necklaces available for sale in various team colors.

James Coney Island will serve hot dogs, hamburgers and Greek salads to those who pre-purchased meal tickets. Lunch items will also be offered for purchase, including Chick-Fil-A, Collina’s Pizza and the Taco Nuts food truck. An array of sweet treats and desserts will be available from Grizzaffi Coffee, Michael’s Cookie Jar, Dippin’ Dots and Kona Ice. The co-chairs of this spring’s event, Monica Moursund, Jennifer Dellinger, Molly Khalil and Alisa Mengwasser encourage families to come out and join in the festivities, and guarantee a fun-filled day for all!
