During the first weekend of the Thanksgiving Break, St. Agnes’ inaugural Mock Trial Team traveled to San Francisco to participate in an exclusive competition known as Empire Mock Trial. St. Agnes brought a team who had never competed before, together or individually, and competed against seasoned teams from all over the country, and teams from four different countries: Australia, China, South Korea and Canada.
St. Agnes made the top 10 teams at this competition, securing an invitation back to the competition next fall. Not only was it a great learning experience, but the girls all grew closer despite being in different grades and gained an invaluable experience. They all had the opportunity to visit the Capitol of San Francisco for Opening Ceremonies and compete in federal courtrooms with seasoned attorneys presiding as judges.
One thing is for sure, everyone is looking forward to “mocking” again.
