College bound
The Smith siblings are heading off to college. Zachary Smith just graduated from Lamar High School. He will attend the Clemson LIFE program at Clemson University, a residential program for students with intellectual disabilities. The program has selected 12 students from across the country. His mother, Denise, said, “Throughout the years, we started hearing more about these programs and feel fortunate that there are programs like this that will allow him to reach his goals. We feel very fortunate to have received so much support for our community for Zachary, and this support has allowed him to achieve all that he has by the many people at Roberts Elementary, Pin Oak, Lamar and the West U and Houston community.” Zachary’s sister, Katherine, just graduated from St. John's School. Katherine will be attending Davidson College and will be playing soccer. Congratulations to these graduates. See where other Buzz-area students are going to college in our “Class of 2017” story.
