Cousins Westy Bennett and Ford Bennett (pictured, from left) take a break from battling it out on opposing teams in an SBMSA freshman tackle football game. Westy, a third grader at Rummel Creek Elementary, has never played on a team with cousin Ford, a second grader at Hunters Creek Elementary. The East/West division keeps them on different teams, but they have the opportunity to play against each other. Football runs in the Bennett family, with six male cousins in the area and parents who are Memorial High School alumni. Westy’s father, Kelly Bennett, has coached SBMSA football for more than 20 years, so these cousins have basically grown up on the field.
