Girl Scout gold
Three Girl Scouts recently earned their Girl Scout Gold Award through leadership and community service. Erin Collins, a senior at Stratford High School, Faith Askew, a junior at Memorial High School, and Isha Thapar, a senior at Memorial High School, are now Gold Award Girl Scouts. The honor recognizes girls in grades 9 through 12 who demonstrate leadership through community-service projects that require a minimum of 80 hours to complete. Fewer than five percent of Girl Scouts earn the award. Erin worked with the Making it Better Foundation on various educational projects for children K-5; Faith worked on a rehabilitation room project for the human trafficking non-profit Elijah Rising, and Isha organized a career camp for middle and high school students through Communities In Schools.
