A Night at Market Square
Market Square Park hosts “A Night at Market Square” on Saturday, Oct. 13 beginning at 6 p.m. Now in its fourth year, this annual event showcases downtown’s re-energized Historic District and offers visitors new ways to explore the neighborhood. Cirque Mythos, a Vaudeville-style circus entertainment troupe, headlines an evening of live performances at Market Square Park, followed by live music from Austin-based steampunk gypsy band That Damned Band.
In addition to live music and performances, Market Square Park will be activated with lawn games, giveaways and a night market showcasing curiosities from more than 20 vendors, curated by Eliments and The DoBo. Residents and visitors are invited to explore the Historic District’s eclectic bars, restaurants and shops, enjoying food and drink specials as well as performances and shopping. Participating businesses include Treebeards Restaurant, Prohibition Supperclub & Bar, El Big Bad, Notsuoh, Batanga Houston, The Tipping Point, upART, Bovine & Barley, Craft Beer Cellar, La Fisheria, La Calle Tacos, Hearsay Gastro Lounge and Line & Lariat. The 300 block of Main Street, closed to vehicular traffic, will be home to Grub Hub, a curated selection of food trucks including Happy Endings, Baby’s Burgers, Oishi Deli and Star Slush Ice. Rounding out the evening, the neighborhood’s residential properties will be offering property tours and stellar views for folks considering the Downtown lifestyle.
