Although the preparations for Thanking are underway, it is important for your mental health, before the out-of-town company arrives, to read a daily dose of your favorite author. If the gathering is large, an extra dose of quiet time with your book friend is highly recommended. Adding a cup of tea is also recommended to enhance relaxation.

My holiday season started with the arrival of Past Tense by Lee Child. Jack Reacher never has to look for trouble - it always finds him. In this story, Reacher finds himself in the town from his father’s youth and is curious about his family’s history. Of course, nothing is easy when Reacher is around.

One of the hottest titles this fall is Becoming by Michelle Obama who presents an intimate and powerful memoir.

Stephanie Plum and Lula are back with Look Alive Twenty-Five by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie’s life will make yours look like a piece of cake.

David Baldacci introduces a new character in Long Road to Mercy who confronts a new threat and an old nightmare.

Heads you Win has been described as Jeffrey Archer’s most ambitious and creative work since Kane and Abel.

The Feral Detective, by Jonathan Lethem. Private Detective Charles Heist is a loner who keeps his pet opossum in a desk drawer.

Due to be released Nov. 27, a new Chief Inspector Gamache novel, Kingdom of the Blind by Louise Penny will help you unwind from the visits.

Grab a cup of coffee, a piece of pie and check out some of the great new titles available.
