French Cultures Festival Kick-Off Concert
Experience the sounds of France on Friday night at the French Cultures Festival kick-off concert, presented by the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston! This free event at Discovery Green will showcase a mix of jazz, soul, R&B and funk sounds from France and francophone countries, as well as some local talent.
Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show
The Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show is in full swing at NRG Center! Throw on your cowboy boots and head there this weekend to enjoy classic rodeo foods like turkey legs and fried Oreos or to check out the Champion Wine Garden and carnival. This weekend also features an impressive lineup of performers starting with Zedd on Friday followed by Kane Brown on Saturday. In honor of Go Tejano Day on Sunday, the day is packed with special festivities including the Mariachi Invitational Semifinals as well as Fiesta Charra – a colorful exhibition of traditional Mexican folk dance, music and horseback riding. The day concludes with a performance by Mexican-American group Los Tigres Del Norte.
Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta
Texas’ largest canoe and kayak race is back for its 47th year! Paddlers, both competitive and non-competitive, are invited to participate in a 15-mile race along Buffalo Bayou. And all are invited to spectate (for free)!
Sawyer Yards Second Saturday
Discover a range of paintings, sculptures, photography and more at Sawyer Yards’ studio this Saturday afternoon during the Second Saturdays event. Some of the artists will be onsite at this open studio event, which also includes and outdoor market and breweries.
Levy Park Spring Break Kick-off
Start your spring break with a bang at Levy Park’s free Spring Break Kickoff Concert featuring headliner Sarah Grace and the Soul, a semi-finalist on NBC’s The Voice, along with funk band If You Have to Ask and the Matt Serice Ensemble, a multi-genre performance group. Market in the Park
Visit Evelyn’s Park on Saturday for Market in the Park, where a collection of vendors with unique and exciting products will be onsite. Enjoy being outdoors while getting some shopping done!
Unplugged at Discovery Green
Calling all music-lovers! Visit Discovery Green on Sunday evening for a unique acoustic concert by Houston’s own Matt Harland, a troubadour who has won multiple songwriting accolades. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Food, beer and wine are available for purchase onsite.
44th Annual Pup Crawl
Gather your furry friends for Saint Arnold Brewery’s 44th annual Pup Crawl at the Houston Arboretum. Purchase a ticket in advance and on the day of the Pup Crawl, you’ll visit four stops along the nature trail, with plenty of beer for you and water and dog-friendly goodies along the way for your pet. Half of the proceeds go to the Houston Arboretum and the other half benefit BARC. This is a rain or shine event!
