Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

One Night of Queen
Get your Queen fix at this touring, two-hour stage show that pays tribute to the music of the British rock band. The show is performed by Gary Mullen & The Works, a band headed by Freddie Mercury imitator Gary Mullen. Free tickets are available for the show (4 per person, ages 16+ only) at the Miller Outdoor Theater box office on the day of the performance from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
If you haven’t made it to this year’s Rodeo and Livestock Show, you still have time! This final weekend includes a slate of classic country star performances, starting with Cody Johnson on Friday, followed by Brad Paisley on Saturday and culminating with a special performance by three country stars – George Strait, Lyle Lovett and Earl Keen.
Houston St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Don your green attire and head to Downtown Houston for the city’s 60th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade! This year features a new route that starts at Sesquicentennial Park on Smith Street. The event takes place rain or shine and includes an awards ceremony and after-party in Market Square after the parade.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade Concert
Following the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, continue the fun with a free concert in Market Square Park featuring Celtic rock band Murder the Stout. Then, finish the night with drink specials at neighborhood bars!
Tour de Houston
Start your Sunday morning with a bike ride through Houston’s historic neighborhoods, scenic districts and parks at the Tour de Houston. Presented by Apache, this annual bike ride is a fundraiser that benefits Houston’s Reforestation Program. There are three ride length options, so it’s the perfect event for leisure riders and cycling enthusiasts alike!
St. Patrick’s Day Party
Continue St. Patrick’s Day Festivities on Sunday at Saint Arnold Brewery, where you can enjoy live music, beer games, special stout beers, commemorative glassware, food, and their annual Donegal Beard Growing Competition. Enjoy live music from Murder the Stout, The Real McCoys, Tomfooligans and Dead Rabbits. To commemorate the holiday, they will be serving Corned Beef & Cabbage, Beef Stew in Bread Bowl, and a limited food menu at the Beer Garden & Restaurant.
St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Levy Park will host a family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day Festival on Sunday, featuring a leprechaun scavenger hunt for kids, a family photo booth, food trucks, beer and wine concessions and free, live music with headliner Skyrocket!, along with Max Flinn, SoulDig and DJ Mohawk Steve. Enjoy the park amenities, including the putting green, table tennis and children’s play area, as well as programs like yoga and Zumba class.
