Fourth of July Parade and Festival
The City of Bellaire is hosting its Annual Fourth of July Parade and Festival on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Festivities will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a parade of local school bands, floats, scout troops and classic cars. Awards will be given to the three best looking floats or groups. Be sure to stay and enjoy the Fourth of July Festival in Bellaire Town Square immediately after the parade.
Big Parade Information:The parade will start at the corner of Mapleridge and Bellaire Blvd. Parade participants and floats need to line up at the Bellaire Triangle on the corner of Chimney Rock and Bellaire Boulevard between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. The parade will begin promptly at 9:30am. Parade participants will exit the Bellaire Triangle at the Mapleridge entrance on Bellaire Boulevard and head east on Bellaire, take a right on South Rice, passing Bellaire Town Square, then turn right onto Jessamine. To participate in the parade, you must complete an application form and return it to Bellaire Parks and Recreation for approval. Parade application forms can be found on the City website and at the Bellaire Recreation Center. The parade is limited to the first 75 entries.
The Children's Parade, co-sponsored by the Bellaire Optimist Club, will start off the event and lead the Big Parade. Children can decorate their bikes and trikes and walk/ride in the parade to celebrate July 4th. There is no application or charge for the Children’s parade. Children meet at the parking lot in front of Pink’s and Viet Nom Nom’s on the Bellaire Boulevard side between 8:45 and 9:30 a.m. The Children's Parade will start promptly at 9:30 a.m. from the Bellaire Blvd. entrance in front of Pink’s Pizza and Viet Nom Nom’s. It will continue down South Rice Ave and stop near Condit Elementary School to watch the Big Parade. If you would like to be judged for the decorating contest in the Children’s Parade, please be sure to arrive by 9 a.m. for judging before the parade starts. The top three decorated children will receive trophies.
The Festival will be located in Bellaire Town Square and Loftin Park immediately following the parade. Children and adults will enjoy live music by The Lost Boys Band, plus games and food. The band will be located at the pavilion, so bring your lawn chair or blanket. Attractions include a dunking booth, moonwalk, Putt-Putt course, inflatable jousting, petting zoo, rock wall, storytelling and carnival games for your July 4th fun.
