St. Agnes Academy kicked off its new school year with Fish Week, a tradition that has been part of St. Agnes for decades. During this week of school, students had spirit days and fun activities to get pumped for the new school year! A popular part of Fish Week is the pairing of each senior with a freshmen called Big Sisters and Little Sisters. Freshmen were given dares, and the week was packed with excitement and anticipation.
On September 8, the school had orientation skit performances, where each grade level and student council executive members presented short, energetic dances for the school in an assembly.

As pictured, the dances featured fun costumes and choreography to welcome the freshmen in a new school year. The performances were creative and well-received. Audience interaction, cheering, and energy made it a wonderful bonding experience for students and faculty.
“The orientation dances and teacher impressions were really fun to watch. It was very hyped up and a great way to start the school year!” said sophomore Phoenix Chen.
Students in the sophomore and freshman class are slowly adapting to the St. Agnes community, due to the abnormal previous school years.
“Getting to participate in the orientation skit was a lot of fun because with COVID-19 last year, the sophomore class missed out on a lot of St. Agnes traditions," explained Lexi Otero. "This year, we are getting to experience these traditions for the first time with the freshman class and it's really special!”
Freshmen Alyssa Wang said, “Welcome week is so much fun! I really enjoy it so far. We get to dress up, get presents, and eat candy! I also really enjoyed the performances today. My favorite dance was the seniors’ because they had a lot of energy!”
St. Agnes Academy, like all schools, is doing its best to return to normal operations. Students look forward to Fish Week, orientation skits, and the energy it brings to the community each year!
