Student heroes
Joshua Cheng
Several Bellaire High School students, including Joshua Cheng, Saanvi Sadana, Meenal Jammi, Irgen Soeriawinata, and Garret Haynes, were selected for the Houston Food Bank’s Student Heroes volunteer program. Each dedicated more than 50 volunteer hours over the summer, completing tasks at the Food Bank and overseeing volunteers. They also were challenged to coordinate food drives. Joshua (pictured), a BHS junior, collected items from neighbors. He put out a box and offered the option of reserving a time for pickups. See houstonfoodbank.org for volunteer opportunities.
