Toro and students at St. Cecilia Catholic School

Students at St. Cecilia Catholic School celebrated a history-making honor with the Houston Texans’ mascot, Toro (pictured). The school was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for the first time. St. Cecilia was identified as an Exemplary High Performing School by achieving reading and math scores in the top 15 percent of schools nationwide for 3rd through 8th grades, and is one of only 24 private schools in the nation to receive the recognition for 2022. After the National Blue Ribbon announcement, students, faculty, and staff were treated to a surprise celebration including ice cream and inflatables on the school field with special guests Toro and administrative members of the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese Catholic Schools office.
