Houston Texans community quarterbacks
West University residents Steve and Margaret Weddle (pictured, from left) received the Houston Texans Community Quarterback award during a Texans game in December at NRG Stadium. The award is given to individuals who go above and beyond in volunteer roles to serve the community, and the Weddles were honored in recognition of their commitment to Christian Community Service Center (CCSC). Along with the recognition, the couple received a $5,000 check in their name to benefit CCSC programs. They have volunteered with CCSC for 17 years, and now that they are retired, Margaret and Steve are full-time volunteers. Margaret focuses her time in the CCSC garden to provide food to families in need. Steve’s volunteer service focuses on the JobNet computer lab where he helped redesign the employment program’s computer classes.
